by an Act of the Fourteenth Year of His Majeſty's Reign,
intituled, An Act to extend ſo much of an Act, paſſed in
the Twelfth Year of the Reign of His preſent Majeſty, as
relates to Diſtillers or Makers of Low Wines and Spirits
from Corn, to every Kind of Diſtiller; and for the more
effectual ſecuring the Revenue of Exciſe ariſing from Low
Wines and Spirits; and for aſcertaining the Allowance to
be made to the Manufacturers of Wool and Linen, in
reſpect of the Duties on Soap imported and uſed in the
Woollen and Linen Manufactures; ſo far as the ſame re=

late to or concern the finding, providing, and affixing
any Locks, Keys, or Faſtenings to the Furnace Doors,
Waſh Pumps, Still Head, and Charge and Diſcharge
Cock, of any Waſh Still, and to the Head and Diſ=
charge Cock of any Low Wine Still for the making of
Spirits for Home Conſumption, and for the ſecuring,
locking up, and Uſe thereof reſpectively; and the Powers,
Authorities, and Directions thereby reſpectively given to
the Officers of Exciſe for the opening and ſhutting of
the Furnace Doors, and Still Heads, and Cocks, and
for enforcing a due Obedience to the ſaid Acts, in reſpect
to the Matters aforeſaid, under the ſeveral Pains and
Penalties thereby reſpectively impoſed and inflicted
for any Diſobedience or Neglect concerning the ſame,
ſhall be, and the ſame are hereby re-enacted and declared

XXX. And, for enabling the Officers of Exciſe the
better to guard againſt any Fraud in the Charge of the
Waſh Still for diſtilling of Low Wines and Spirits
for Exportation, under a Pretence of ſuch Charge having
been increaſed by Water or other Fluid mixed there=
with; be it further enacted, That no Diſtiller or Maker
of Spirits for Exportation ſhall have or be intitled to
any Allowance, for or under any Pretence of any In=
creaſe by Water or any other Fluid mixed with the
Waſh put into the Still; but the whole Charge of the
Still ſhall be conſidered as Waſh, and the Diſtiller or
Maker ſhall, in reſpect of the ſaid Charge, produce to the
