The only Answer I received to my Memorial
was M^r Todds Letter of June 1787 -
and in consequence thereof I did myself
the honour to wait on his Excellency the
Gov^r sent my Name on a Card, the answer
brought down by the Servant was that
the Governor admired my Impudence, the
Bell rang, the Servant went up Stairs I
waited a few minutes, till the Servant

Governor would not see me, this was
about 1/2 past 11 oClock in the Forenoon on
Thursday the 28^th June, and about 1/2 past 3 of
in the afternoon I was summoned to appear
before the Worshipful Deemster Moore at the
Suit of Edw Smith Esq^r Major Gen &c and
Tho^s Hornan Esq^r of Balladoole
