And the Defendants Clerk who wrote the new List or Roll inserted in the
Liber Scaccarius 1764 Which Book as well as All other Books and Co[obscured]
proceedings by the Constitution and Course of Practice of this Isle takes
Commencement from the 10^th October N. S. in Course of practice and not
this Defendants direction or privity omitted the Name of the said John
Taubman- And this Defendant admits that at the Court of General Go[obscured]
Delivery holden upon Thursday the 13^th October aforesaid When there w[obscured]
a public Meeting of the Keys (though the contrary is untruly alledged by
the said prosecutor) the Defendant called over the Gentlemen of the Key[obscured]
according to ancient Custom and omitted calling the said prosecutor
John Taubman though each Member is called twice over (if any of tho[obscured]
Gentlemen do not answer to their Name the first time) And the said
prosecutor who then sat as Deemster and Member of the said Court of
Goal Delivery not two Yards distant from this Defendant while he was
calling over the said Keys as aforesaid And did not stand among the said
Keys took no Notice of the said Omission- And this Defendant also admi[obscured]
to have given Copys of the List or Roll of the said Keys as well for the Yea[obscured]
1763 with the Name John Taubman and Line drawn under the same—
as for the Year 1764 wherein that Name is omitted as aforesaid. And
this Defendant apprehends he must still enter his Name in the Revenue
Book to intitle him the said prosecutor to his Sallary while he so
executed the said Office- And this Defendant Saith he hath done and
apprehends he is to do the same by Virtue of the Commission Oath
and Office aforesaid- But Saith that if the same is not sufficient
Authority no Act or Omission of this Defendant or his Clerk can
impeach or invalidate his the said prosecutor John Taubmans right
of sitting among the said Keys-
