ought to have any Estate or Interest therein in possefsion
or Reversion and subject thereto In trust for the said
Duke of Athole and his heirs **And fur-
ther reciting** that the said John Earl of
Dunmore and John Murray had both some time
since departed this life whereby the legal Estate in the
said Isle and premises became vested in the said Wil-
liam Lord Mansfield by Survivorship And that
the said Term of five hundred years had been as-
signed by the said John Sharpe by the said Dukes
direction **And also reciting** that
proposals had been made to the Duke on the part
of His Majesty for the purchase of the said Isle
and premises And that the said Duke was
therefore minded to revoke the Trusts of the said
Indenture of the fourth day of May One thousand
seven hundred and forty eight And as it was
uncertain whether any such Sale would be made
in his lifetime was further desirous that the
same should be settled and conveyed in such
manner as therein mentioned **It was wit-
nefsed** that the said James Duke of Athole
for diverse Considerations him thereunto moving
In pursuance and by virtue of the power to him
reserved by the said last mentioned Indenture
bearing date the fourth day of May One thou-
sand seven hundred and forty eight and of
all other powers him thereto enabling did thereby
revoke
