The site of the modern church of St Ninian, in the Parkfield area of Douglas. The land was given, and the cost of construction met, by the philanthropist Henry Noble, whose Cumbrian origins are reflected in the dedication to St Ninian (a saint associated with that region). The church was designed by the architect W. D. Caröe in the Gothic Revival style. The first wedding held in the building took place on 17 September 1913, and the church was consecrated on 25 March 1914 by the Bishop of Sodor and Man, Dr Denton Thompson. Its stained-glass windows, made by Horace Wilkinson Ltd of London, commemorate Henry Noble and his wife Rebecca.
