The site of a lead mine, shown on the 1870 1:2500 scale Ordnance Survey map. An adit appears to have entered the hillside at SC32837827, whilst a chimney still stands at SC32727829. The mine, known as "Glion Darragh" (also recorded as Ballacurry Glen locally), worked an east-west lode parallel to and about a mile north of the main Foxdale lode, on the northern slope of Archallagan. Earlier operations from 1845-46 knew it as the "Cornelly Mine"; later working under the name "Townsend Mine" ran from 1874 to 1884, producing lead ore averaging about 35 oz of silver per ton, though output (8 tons of lead ore recorded in 1883) was insufficient to cover working costs, and the mine was abandoned by 1884.
