This is believed to be the site of an early medieval keeill and burial ground. The only feature now visible at the site is a standing stone (PRN 0039.30). The locality is recorded in 19th-century place-name sources as Magher-y-Ruillic ("Field of the Graveyard"), noted as containing "the remains of a keeill, of a well, and near the well a large flat block of granite, having in its centre a cavity, which may have formed the socket of a cross" - a description that plausibly corresponds to the standing stone recorded at this site today.
