Colby Mooar, Bellabbey

Neolithic pottery.
This large, round-based, late Neolithic urn was found in a ploughed field at Bellabbey (Colby Mooar) farm in May 1947. The urn stands 520mm high and has a diameter of 280mm.
It was found buried upright, its mouth covered with a stone lid. The artefact is now in the Manx National Heritage collections, accession no. 1954-5786.
