Sulby Straight is the 1.5-mile blast through Sulby village starting at around 19.16 miles, and it is the fastest stretch of the entire course. During practice for the 2006 TT, Bruce Anstey was clocked at 206 mph here, a figure that as of 2015 stood as the unofficial outright speed record both for the course and for the Isle of Man. The straight begins at Caley's Corner, named for local shopkeeper Ray Caley (d. 2017), and the road here was widened ahead of the 1938 TT.
