Iron Gate is one of the Billown Circuit's named corners with a documented racing history: Wikipedia's article on the circuit records a fatal accident there in 1994 (Rob Harrison) and a further two in 2006, when both Tony Smith and Barry Pepperrell were killed at the same corner.
