The Saddle, a long-standing Ramsey inn, has stood near St Paul's Church since at least 1852, according to local historical accounts. It was noted for an unusual feature: a public right-of-way once ran directly through the building, entering at the front door, passing the bar, and exiting at the back. Historical photographs place it beside St Paul's Church in the Market Place area, and it is recorded on the Isle of Man's Registered Buildings list as a former public house.
