6 Finch Road Douglas IM1 2PT

Place

6 Finch Road stands on a street in central Douglas that dates back to at least the early nineteenth century, referred to as 'Vinche's Road' in an 1831 newspaper reference and as 'Finch's Road' on John Wood's 1833 map, a name recalling the Vinch family, who held land at nearby Ballakermeen. The road became established as a location for professional offices close to the Legislative Buildings and Douglas's main banks. No further verifiable history specific to number 6 itself was found.
