Ravenscliffe (Raven's Cliff) on Fort Anne Road was built in 1849 and is regarded as one of the original ten grand mansion houses built in Douglas during the town's Victorian expansion. It occupies an elevated, cliff-top position enclosed by high stone walls, with sweeping views over Douglas Bay, the harbour entrance and the Tower of Refuge. The house later gained a further claim to fame as a filming location for the 2011 feature film Albatross, starring Felicity Jones, Julia Ormond and Jessica Brown Findlay, in which it appeared as 'The Cliff House.'
