1 Parliament Lane Castletown IM9 1LB

Place

Number 1 Parliament Lane is described by local historian William Henry Cooper as an 18th-century cottage notable for panelling on its first floor carved with graffiti depicting sailing ships in an 18th-century style. It was occupied by a shoemaker, R. Kneale, who also worked as a distributor of the evening post, a small domestic survival tucked just off Parliament Square in the old town centre.
