4 Parliament Square Castletown IM9 1LA

Place

According to William Henry Cooper's account, the houses at 3-4 Parliament Square, known locally as 'the Bank', were occupied for many years by the Schofield family, including joiners Thomas and Robert and their sibling James. The site also housed a succession of banks: first Dumbell's Bank, then Parr's Bank, and later the Westminster Bank, reflecting Parliament Square's long association with Castletown's banking trade alongside its role as the historic seat of the House of Keys.
