Number 5 Parliament Square was known as Cornish House while occupied by the Roberts family; R. C. Roberts, a tailor, kept a business there. The building later became Brown's Café and, separately, a knitting factory, before eventually being converted into offices with a health-food shop on the ground floor, according to William Henry Cooper's history of the town, a small illustration of how these Georgian townhouses on Castletown's old parliamentary square have been repeatedly repurposed over the generations.
