1 Castle Street Castletown IM9 1LF
Place
This terraced house on Castle Street was registered in 1984 and, according to local history sources, the row it stands in may go back to seventeenth-century buildings shown in Daniel King's 1640s drawings of Castletown. An early twentieth-century trade advert for the address describes it as "Manchester House Restaurant", run by a Mrs Bell, offering board and residence, and in 1833 the same address was recorded as the town Post Office.
