1 The Parade Castletown IM9 1LG
Place
Known locally as the Red House, this Registered Building on The Parade was entered on the Island's Protected Buildings Register in 1984. One local history account of Castletown notes that a house at this position on The Parade served at one time as Sir James Gell's and the High Bailiff's Office; Gell held a long Manx public career including High Bailiff, Attorney General and First Deemster, though the exact continuity of use at this address cannot be independently confirmed.
