Place
This concrete pillbox, standing in fields beside Jurby Road at Sandygate, is one of nine surviving pillboxes registered together in March 2007 as a group defending Jurby Aerodrome and its surrounding fields during the Second World War. Together with the aerodrome's guard house, bomb store, terminal building and aeroplane store, the pillboxes are protected as physical reminders of the RAF station that operated at Jurby during the war.
