This K6 telephone kiosk on Queens Road, Port St Mary, is an example of the classic cast-iron red telephone box designed by the architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. Introduced from 1936 to mark the Silver Jubilee of King George V, the K6 became the most widely deployed kiosk design in Britain and its territories, and many surviving examples, including numerous ones on the Isle of Man, are now protected for their architectural and historic value as street furniture from that era.
