This North Quay building was for decades the home of Newson Trading, an outdoor clothing and workwear retailer that traded from the site for around 61 years before finally closing its quayside doors in October 2016 and relocating further into town on Strand Street. The shop was a long-familiar fixture of the North Quay for generations of Douglas shoppers before the move brought its long quayside chapter to a close.
