Swing Bridge Ramsey Isle Of Man
Place
Ramsey Harbour Swing Bridge, spanning the River Sulby to link the town centre with Mooragh Promenade, opened on 29 June 1892, its 210-foot swing span built by the Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company of Darlington. It remains the only structure of its kind on the island, swinging open horizontally to let vessels pass between the harbour and the inner basin, and was refurbished over the winter of 2013 before being granted protected building status in February 2024.
