Thatched Cottages Niarbyl Road Dalby Peel
Place
These traditionally thatched Manx cottages sit above the shore at Niarbyl, near Dalby, in an area now cared for by Manx National Heritage alongside the Niarbyl Café and Visitor Centre. One of the fishermen's cottages here has appeared on screen twice: as Ned Devine's cottage in the 1998 film 'Waking Ned', and decades earlier in Nigel Kneale's 1968 television adaptation of 'The Year of the Sex Olympics'. The cottages were registered on the Protected Buildings Register on 23 May 1983, among the very first entries on the register.
