Peel Heritage Centre, on Mill Road, occupies the former Peel railway station and its water tower, built in the early 1900s in an Arts and Crafts style; the water tower, notable for its rare slate tank, is the most intact survivor of the site's railway infrastructure. The Isle of Man Railway station here opened in 1873 and closed in 1968, after which the main station building became part of the House of Manannan museum complex while the surrounding site was redeveloped for tourism. It was registered as a protected building on 2 September 2025, one of thirteen historic structures recognised together that day for spanning over 800 years of Manx heritage.
