The Braaid
Place
The Braaid, in the parish of Marown, preserves the remains of an Iron Age roundhouse together with two Viking Age longhouses on the same site, occupied together and surviving until roughly the 11th or 12th century AD. Once thought to be an ancient stone circle, modern excavation showed the large stones actually supported the roundhouse walls. It is cared for by Manx National Heritage with open access.
