Cabbal Pherick (Spooyt Vane Keeill)

Place

Cabbal Pherick, or Spooyt Vane Keeill, is a ruined early Christian chapel dedicated to St Patrick, standing in Glen Mooar near Kirk Michael and thought to date from the 8th-10th century AD. The site includes a surrounding burial ground and the remains of a priest's cell, with walls surviving up to about a metre high. It lies close to the well-known Spooyt Vane waterfall, one of the highest on the Island.
