Maughold Head Lighthouse

Place

A 23-metre lighthouse on Maughold Head at the southern end of Ramsey Bay, completed in 1914 and designed by David A. and Charles Stevenson. It was built after shipping owner Lord Inverclyde complained in 1909 that vessels had foundered due to poor signalling near the Whitestone Bank. The light was automated in 1993 and remains operated by the Northern Lighthouse Board.
