An RNLI lifeboat station established at Port St Mary in 1896, after the Deputy Chief Inspector of Lifeboats recommended relocating the service from Port Erin. It remains one of five active lifeboat stations on the Isle of Man, currently operating a Trent-class all-weather lifeboat and a D-class inshore lifeboat from Lime Street.
