Barclays Bank, Castle Rushen

Archaeology

Post medieval tower.

Originally round-fronted, this 16th century tower would have served as a strongpoint defending the western terminal of the counterscarp and glacis. It was later used as the customs house, more recently as a market and latterly as a bank.
