Lhergyrhenny Shieling Mound

A pair of mounds which have been described as possible medieval shieling mounds, but have also been interpreted as possible Bronze Age funerary barrows.
They are both ditchless turf covered mounds with diameters of 9.0 metres and heights of 0.5 metres and 0.4 metres respectively. One is found at SC37708877 and is well preserved. The other is found at SC37718880 is partly destroyed either by erosion or by surface peat digging.
These monuments may correspond with P.S. Gelling's records for shieling mounds PRN 0448.00.
