St Johns Mill
Archaeology
Modern mill leat (site of).
The Ordnance Survey 1:2500 First Edition mapping of 1868-9 shows a building together with the annotation 'Mill (Disused)'.
A leat extending 130m upstream took water directly from the river without the need for a weir (at a point to which the grid reference relates). No sluice is shown on the OS mapping, but this may be a result of the disused condition of the mill.
The mill leat has been infilled, but part of its course is reflected in the access road leading to the dwelling.
