Ballamoar Mill
Archaeology
Modern watermill and associated water management.
The Ordnance Survey 1:2500 First Edition mapping of 1868-9 shows a building at the grid reference provided. There is no annotation, but the building is served by a millpond and leat.
The mill served the adjacent farm, Ballamoar.
It was supplied by a leat and a millpond, which dammed a stream flowing northwards from Barnell glen. A short tail race returned water directly to the stream.
The mill has been converted into a dwelling, named 'Mullen Beg'.
