Modern water mill. The Ordnance Survey First Edition 1:2500 map of 1868 records a flour mill at this location. Milling on this general site (known locally as "the Little Mill") is said to date back as early as the start of the 16th century, and it was run by the Qualtrough family for over 400 years; the mill was largely rebuilt around 1832, when the current machinery was installed. It finally closed in 1943 and lay unused for over twenty years before being restored by a later owner; Kentraugh Mill is now one of the last surviving intact watermills on the island.
