Ballacorkish Mine
Archaeology
Modern lead mine.
The Ordnance Survey First Edition 1:2500 map of 1868 records "Lead Mines" at this location. The map shows a single building, probably an engine house, immediately to the east of a shaft, and north of a spoil heap. The grid reference relates to the mineshaft.
Modern mapping implies that more than one shaft is present.
