Modern chapel. The original Primitive Methodist chapel, at Dandy Hill in Port Erin, was built in 1832, four years after the land was acquired, with Rev. J. Moss driving the project. By the late 1850s the building was in poor repair, with a leaking roof and rotting timbers, and it was rebuilt (58ft by 29ft, seating around 200) with substantial gifts from W. Milner of the Phoenix Works, Liverpool, a regular Port Erin holidaymaker. The Dandy Hill chapel served the congregation until a new chapel was built on Station Road in 1903, after which it continued in use as a Sunday School until 1963, when it was demolished and a house and garage built on the site.
