The Wesleyan Methodist chapel at Ballakilpheric (grid reference SC224713) was constructed in 1850, replacing earlier meetings held in the farmhouse of a local preacher known as 'Tom the Dipper'. It was subsequently extended by the addition of a Sunday school, built at right angles to the east gable in 1889. Electric lighting was installed in 1937, funded by local Methodist preacher Richard R. Kermode, with electric heating added the following year.
